Eg, you have 4000 tracks on a drive, the shuffle function applies to them ALL not per album/folder. I personally think the MMI software is a bit crap. But class 10 SD cards help with the access speed. There's no point in wasting money on large SD cards or HDDs due to the 4000 file limitation. You have to use a utility such as Ridgecrop Consultants Ltd
For a number of reasons Windows doesn't easily do this. To get the hard drive to work properly it needs to be formatted with FAT32. Its not smart enough to order files based on their tags (in teh DVD version at least) DVD nav only shows tags instead of file names. MMI shows me the folder structure when browsing, not the tags (maybe this is a feature of 'old' DVD nav). I store the music in the same way on both SD card and HDD. I have a 16GB card in the MMI and also a USB HDD Stored in folders and sub-folders (such as Adele then a subfolder of 21) I have the DVD nav and here's how I do it.
